The Solforge demo video is out. It looks extremely easy to play. Probably much easier to pick up than SE. But I can see a lot of depth too.

No fanciful animation, the art looks less attractive than SE.

But I'm most impressed by their constant update. I received like 4 emails update now, all leading towards the GenCon. Their marketing dept is really professional.

This reminds me of the SE physical crowd funding days, where I was eagerly checking for updates and whether the various milestones are met. That was really an awesome period for SE.

I hope Wulven take this competition seriously and invest more money into getting more manpower to develop the game. Be it the features (like auction house or guild tags or automated tourneys) or getting the expansion out. A little more manpower may get everything going faster.

For now. It might be placeholder stuff. I seem to recall them saying the art on the cards would be animated to a degree.

Yeh it looks cool. I'm also very impressed by the professionalism shown. Constant clear updates and communication. They look like they will stick to their deadlines too.

I'm actually a bit worried about SE; Wulven really need to get a move on with their updates and make sure all the physical cards and bonuses get shipped otherwise people may get disenchanted at the length of time it takes and move on to other tcgs. So far there hasn't been much competition for Wulven to worry about this happening, but this doesn't look like it will last

Hehe, I am a $25 backer of the SolForge project, comes with a starter deck and 5 booster pack, with special Kickstarter card and a unique in-game avatar...not bad for $25 I supposed.

Agreed with Wtzky, impressed with their professionalism, with the fact they got Richard Garfield onboard shows that they are pretty serious about it. But in terms of cross-platform advantage, SE wins hands down, no doubt about that. But then again, it won't be long before SolForge catches up to multi-platforms, some say even on Ouya!

Whatever became of this game? It's about two years since this thread was made.

Just checked it out. The game mechanics are pretty intriguing. It's good enough to warrant a closer look. It seems to be different enough from SE that I could play both without feeling like I had to choose

I do believe it's still running, may even be out of beta.

I believe they have one expansion at this point, though I haven't played in a while.

If I recall correctly, set 3 is on its way. Could be wrong on that, I stopped playing the game a long time ago.
