Majiya - Portal to Oblivion

Hi Icebear,

I was refering to the first matchup in PS' OP.

Majiya vs Eladwen and Majiya goes first.

Majiya has Portal and 2x SK in opening hand and thus plan to go like
T4: Portal
T5: SK
T6: SK

The board will be something like Brutalis + Infernal Gargoyle vs. Puwen+ Aldon / Jasmine. And most likely the graveyard is still empty. Also note that Eladwen's SE is fully charged at this point.

in this situation i would prefer to have either a ls (hit puwen and aldon, finish aldon with brut, attack hero with garg) or a fb (fb aldon, hit puwen with brut, finish with garg)

in addition to fb a tok (or if played a draw) or play a second brute if avail.

if no dd avail, i would still hit aldon with majs ability for a card...
and at least take him out then.

you risk loosing sk loop if you play sk, as he may kill him with elads ability, and then kill brut with a fb... so i would not play him before portal for sure

I am trying this deck but battle to maintain early board. It seems like too little too late once I get a portal out. I am trying other heroes now instead, but perhaps you can explain how it works in early stages, eg: turn 1-4 seem hard for me.

Mages have good early game board control, you don't really need your portal in most matchups early.
A decent start is always:
T2: Brut
T3: garg
T4 lightning strike and kill all opponent allies

or T4 ToK + draw against slower decks.

Going 2nd you also have your ability on turn 4 for another 3 damage.

I still find boris quite difficult, even after teching 2 sac lambs.

Once boris gets blood frenzy out, he just spams the board. Killing one of my hardly allies every 4 turns just makes it so much worse than amber.

Although boris does not have the option to death race like amber, he simply does so well in securing board control, it almost feels like I will never catch up with him once he get frenzy.

You can add nova to counter spam or Sever Ties to counter BF.

I had no idea about this thread until the bump but this is the Majiya deck I've been using in QM for the majority of the time I've been playing SE. Also use this when I need to farm for gold/exp faster (in QM). It got me to rank for a while until I decided to try out other builds. Amber is the only bad matchup imo but not impossible to win. Gets Elad losses for when she gets lucky and drops Kris -> Puwen -> PotL -> Aldon, without any Brutalis, Fireball, or Lightning Strike on hand which rarely happens anyways. I'd go for Shriek over LLN on this, and switch BM/MD with Supernova sometimes for Moonstalkers/Boris, etc.
EDIT: Sacrificial Lamb -> Crippling Blow, Captured Prey, Sending an SK to the graveyard, A frozen garg. So no ally is ever wasted.
