New Nr 1 in rankings alert

checked the rankings today, all of a sudden I see a new nick up there: RHPepper

having a look at his history, the first red alert came when I realized that most of his MUs are vs the same opponents
second alert is that -between these same opponents- you have "UsoGui" and "UsoGUIdEAd"
third alert is that -through UsoGui's history- you find the same opponents that our dear friend RHPepper "battled" on his way to the top

Now I'm with those not giving a lot of importance to ratings but I also value the effort of people who get really high through skill..and I believe that such cases should be..how should I put it gently...exterminated, so that we keep the game interesting for all the various reasons that attract people to this game

This is much more important. I couldn't care less about getting into the list of top 20 lurking players.

I thought there were checks in place to prevent this, but looks like it needs to be flagged to support directly.

Sure but how will a good rating system help in this case? You have someone setting up easy games for himself, which he can keep on doing no matter what the rating system looks like
For me it's a question of getting rid of cheaters who'll always find ways to exploit holes in the algorithm(s)

Well, putting leagues as starcraft for example and decay system? to continue being on top you must fight other players so at one point, you'll begin falling on rating if you didn't deserve it

This would be moot with rating decay.
