Perfect Draw Game: bluejet24 vs. chanson311

Prepare to witness perhaps the most epic SE battle ever!

Credit goes to ipwn4. He thought up this game, but we decided to move it to the general forums because it's so awesome.

    Rules:

This is not an actual SE game... but a forum game!

You and you opponent each have 39 + hero "deck" which will contain any cards you want within the normal class/faction restrictions. You don't even know what your deck is or what your hand is for that matter... all you have to do is play your turn within the constraints of the normal rules of the game assuming that you drew the exact cards that you needed.

For example... chanson (amber) vs ace (moonstalker)...

    I post my turn
t1... chanson starts the game with 6 cards and no se. sac 1 card = 1 resourse and 5 cards in hand... plays birgette and ends turn with 4 cards and a birgette on the board 33 cards left in deck.

now ace posts his turn... and he can use any cards he wants as long as he follows proper rules.

t1... ace gains a se and draws a card. hand up to 7... sac for 1 resource and end turn. 32 cards in library and 6 cards in hand with nothing on the board.

now I post my next turn
t2... chanson gains 1 se and draws up to 5 cards and sacs one for his second resource. with 4 cards in hand i play a bad santa and draw 3 cards leaving my hand with a total of 6 cards and ace with 7 cards. turn ended with 29 cards in my library, and a birgette on the board.

    etc etc...

Now that you read the rules... Let's get to the game already in progress:

    Turn 1

    I'm using a 39+Hero Zal deck

    Sac.

    Cast: Fire Snake

    SE: 0
    HP: 28
    Cards in hand: 4 cards
    Total resource: 1
    Remaining cards: 33
    My boards: Fire Snake(1/2)
    Support: nothing
    Grave: nothing

Chanson is playing a 39+hero Zhanna

Zhanna: draw 1 up to 7 cards gain 1 SE. Sac. Kris attack hero for 1
    End turn

    SE 1
    Hp 26
    Hand 5
    Resources 1
    Library 32
    Gy empty

    Turn 2

    Zal

    Draw
    Sac
    Cast: Brutalis
    Attack: FS kills Kris

    SE: 1
    HP: 27
    Cards in hand: 3 cards
    Total resource: 2
    Remaining cards: 32
My boards: Fire Snake(1/2), Brute (1/4)
    Support: nothing
    Grave: nothing

Not really perfect without foil cards, imo.

I told chanson all about it on irc yesterday and explained the rules we had been using and even invited him to play a game with me on our forums in the public area.

So credit should be given to the person who originally thought of it, who is ipwn4

We have a section over on our forums dedicated to this. If it takes off here it would be awesome to have a replicate section for people who want to play here too. I am happy to help mods set it up so the forums stay nice and tidy and send over a copy of the rules for setting up a match in the forum etc.

    It really is good fun!

No worries. We had a good chat yesterday on irc about this game (ipwn named it Shadow Era Mind Games if this takes off big lol) + other ideas.

Btw; you didn't post up any of the rules surrounding certain scenarios like use of dimension ripper/night prowler/transference/gravediggers cloak. There's also a variation Sisy came up with which limits when you can play a multiple of your card.

    Almost seems like chess-by-mail

I can imagine the games would get hard to track though....

We also discussed using physical cards to do a kind of chess by mail system.

Wouldn't the 1st turn advantage dominate the game?
