Really good post. I hadn't considered the idea of demo deck building. I would've slapped together two competitive decks to give my student the best cards possible.

The 2 explanations for the first strike mechanisms are very good! I like the reference to real-life, that if I knocked you cold in 1 blow you don't retaliate
