Deleting unused accounts?

I was wondering whether there is a certain policy towards deleting unused Shadow Era accounts.

I've come across several threads covering issues when having returned after a prolonged absence people didn't have their cards, crystals, etc. But what I want to know is if there's a certain period of time of inactivity that allows Wulven to delete the account and make its name available for taking again! I'm asking because the name of the account I currently run is not the one that I'd like to have and the one that is - well that person doesn't even play PvP, so one can suppose he doesn't need it any more.

I would really appreciate an answer to this question from a Wulven representative or an insight source! Thanks in advance!

could you link any of these threads please?

the only ones i found had a very simple reason:
people entered the wrong email address or had a typo

i could not find any cases where people really lost their stuff,
i never heard of accounts being deleted for inactivity.

would be shocked if accounts would 'time out'...

cant believe wulven would ever do so...
also would wonder if that would be legal...

a statement by wulven would be highly appreciated indeed.

you want to get this dudes account cause he does not play pvp?

it is no need to play pvp to have the right to hold an account.
maybe he plans to, but is on holiday or in the hospital or elsewhere...
or just takes a break from playing or grinds dollars vs. AI before he goes pvp...

there is a number of legit reasons for him not to play pvp now,
but no a single legit reason why you should get someone elses account.

just 'wanting the name' is no reason... just lame.

@Icebear, I'm not demanding that from Wulven, but if they do possess such info that he has not been playing PvP and / or earning any XP vs. CPU (and who else would know, if not them), that wouldn't be such a terrible thing to give the name to somebody who wants it, if that person doesn't!

I.e., some mobile providers have the right to assign your phone number to another user, if you haven't been doing any phone calls for a year or so!

anadolts answer seems to confirm the account lock theory,
but it also seems that this account in question was not really removed completely, and it looks like wulven just recovered that account.

and hopefully including the name.

assuming wulven would free that name you are interested in,
and then the guy comes back - just like the one in the thread you linked -
to find out that now someone else is using the name he had before...

he will surely contact support... and then.... who will the get the name in question?

so i still think wulven should neither lock accounts nor give away names that are already in use.

i feel i have a right to take a break from a game i payed for, just as i have the right to play it.
permanent play should not be a requirement to keep what is already mine.

i mean, can i take your car if you dont drive it for a while?

hopefully anadolt or any other wulven employee can make an official statement regarding this...

I think it's reasonable to rename an account it it hasn't been used in a long time... say 12 months... rename it and if person comes back just explain the policy ...

I was actually also wondering the same thing. My IGN is "Danae Warwind" but I'd rather just have it as "danae". However, that username is not available and searching for games by that person shows that they haven't played any games in 1.5 nor in the previous version when I also searched then.

If people have spent any money deleting accounts would not be fair.
