Appreciation Monday

It's that time. Time to celebrate the "little guys" in your deck. We all know about the Aeons and Jasmines and Ogloths and Behemoths. Today we celebrate the meat shields. The stall cards. The 9-5ers with no health insurance and bad work conditions.

Pick a card from your deck that is a key card, but not flashy. Something that, by itself, people might not even consider running in any other deck but it's a cog in your machine of domination.

I have done a lot of these, and usually I nominate brute or gargoyle. Today, I'm going to nominate Belladonna. Arguably the most key card in my build, she is simply not run in any deck but gravebone and even then, with the restriction to gravebone+portal, she is run even less. Maybe you'll see her in a rare Elementalis pump deck. Maybe she'd make an appearance in majiya portal, but it's doubtful.

Here's to you, Belladonna. You are unemployed no longer. The glass cannon will always have a job here.

I would say Krystoffer Wyld.
He has saved my life more times than I can count.
That is an accomplishment as he has minimum stats!
Of course, he is master of the quick draw.

Here Be Monsters. My 1.5 unsung hero. Ground card advantage and disrupted perfect resource curves all the way from the first rounds of Crown 11 through the last 7 WC swiss rounds (my HBM Zaladar went 13-1, falling only once to The Haydes - I'll post the deck soon).

I've seen a few Zaladars play it (including an hilarious mirror where 4 HBM were played back to back). Otherwise it went from laughing stock to completly forgotten.

I think he's looking for allies, Fou (that is a good, unsung card tho!).

That said, I also love Brut -- always ignored, and always comes back to bite your opp in the behind. Combos so well with LS/Maj/Zal abilities and those pesky 4hp allies. Also great against Black Garb and wearing down weapons in general.

I'd like to appreciated Birgitte. She may be the fugliest card remaining (IMO) but she absorbs a hit like a boss and can really disrupt your opponents plans for 1cc. If I could I'd pay for her to get a card makeover like the Priest of the Light did.

I have no unflashy allies in my deck In general unflashy cards, I nominate Healing Touch. What a super good card in a lot of circumstances!
