Updated for v1.24.. again. Kyle fixed boosters and starters to include the new Shadow Ability cards. Whereas previously, starters only gave 2 Here Be Monsters and 3 Shadowspawn for Shadow Abilities; and boosters didn't give the new Shadow Ability cards at all.

From this I concluded that the best way to spend your first couple of crystals/gold is.
Say you started mage (and want to stay mage)
That gives you "one deck" and 1-3 "good" cards.
Buy a *second* human mage deck, sell the 2-3 cards that have 6 of them as well as your duplicated hero. And get you all the allies you need for human.
Buy a shadow mage deck. This will complete your mage deck again sell up to a max of 4 each.
Branch to a second type, going human will be easier as you already have the allies.
Buy a second of the same
Buy expensive cards

Continuing my "be efficient expending money" you need to *not* buy any card with gold that is posted in any of the starter decks and buy 4 decks of each. In order to get 4x of that card you love/need. Then split it per class. For example 2 human Warrior starter and 2 Shadow Warrior starter will get you +4x of each Warrior card. Then the same for hunter will complete not only hunter cards but Allies. You will always have a ton of ally cards So sell until you have a max of 4 each.
A little bug is in the market right now that you can't sell any cards from your current deck which may confuse you at first into thinking you have less duplicates of a card you use the most. IMO the sell screen should show you all cards you have and warn you that you can't sell a card that is currently part of a deck.

Has anyone added up how much each of these starter decks sells for, if you just sell every card in the deck?
Would also be curious the range (min - max) that a randomized booster pack would sell for, based on the distribution of rarities?
If no one has worked this out, I may just do the math myself - Is a booster ever as good a deal as a startyer?
It's certainly more fun to save crystals / cash for boosters, and since they are the same price, they really should have an incentive - The "suspense" of a blind pack is part of the fun of a real CCG after all...

You should add it all up and create a thread. I haven't done it in awhile but I think Elementals should be the best starter; at least that's been the case for awhile now.
Boosters should on average be worth less than starters due to the chance of you getting the cards you want; however again, while this might've been the case in the past, it may or may not be so nowadays.
After awhile, booster prices should, on average, be better than starters but I'll maintain that this won't be for months. Also, if and when foils are implemented, boosters will have 'em but starters most likely wouldn't.
