    Cool Niche Haven [1.503]

I've been having some success with this solo Nish today so I thought I would post it up.

    Current Deck (40):

    1 x Nishaven

    (0 allies)

    4 x Fireball
    2 x Freezing Grip
    2 x Poison Gas
    4 x Lightning Strike
    2 x Engulfing Flames
    3 x Supernova
    2 x Clinging Webs
    4 x Retreat
    4 x Poor Quality
    (27 abilities)

    4 x Tomb of Knowledge
    3 x Snow Sapphire
    1 x Twice Enchanted Robe
    4 x Voice of Winter
    (12 items)

Not much to it really. If it continues to work I'll add some strategies after more tuning. Twice Enchanted Robes is for Mage match up after putting Voice of Winter down.

You want to try and avoid using his ability before you've accumulated 7SE if you can.

    Demonstration Playlist

Vs Solo Darkclaw (and how not to play Darkclaw Vs Nishaven):

    Vs Ter Adun:

    Vs Gravebone:

No other draw than Tome of Knowledge? No Tainted oracles who work well with Nishaven? No Bad Santa or Bazaar?

In regards to Poor Quality Vs Ley Line Nexus, I just won a close match against a Lance who had and used at least two copies of Spelleater Bands today.

On the last turn he died from retaliation damage from my Voice of Winter after hitting my hero with Anklebreaker reducing my HP to 3 while equipped with his second Poor Quality Spelleater Bands.

I seem to be playing with this deck the most lately as it is winning some surprising matches including Elementalis, Lone Wolf decks, and other Mage.

This is probably the most diversly played deck dependant on match-ups that I have made so far which makes stratgy tips difficult, however, below is a Resource list of how best to sac cards for victory listed in order of priority.

Voice of Winter is essential for victory and cannot be sacrificed until quite late game due to Ley Line Nexus. The great part is that due to it's equall cost to LLN it means you can continue to stall with another kept in hand. In some match-ups you can strike using it's durability also, however you need to be wary of Acid Jet Vs Shadow Heroes. It is less needed Vs most Darkclaw decks, but even then the damage can make a difference.

While 2-3 copies of Tomb of Knowledge can usually be sacrificed all may be needed against item destruction heavy decks such as Shriek Shadow builds and Rogues, although typically they will need Stop Thief for your weapons so only one spare will be needed. Try to make use of it's draw in every turn, even if it means tanking some damage or even weapon durability based on the situation. More cards = more options.

Poison Gas and Engulfing Flames are where your most important damage is. Vs Wulven all must be kept in case they use Regeneration and Lone Wolf, and not both at once if it can be done unless Lone Wolf is used early and allies cannot be stalled in play. Vs all others usually the first copy of each can be resourced depending on what they are drawn with. It is not always important to use these early, particularly on T4 where you can shorten your hand doing so forcing you to resource an important card next turn before summoning Voice of Winter.

Snow Sapphire is secondary against allies and primarily used against Hero weapons, especially Gwen, and solo decks. One early copy can be resourced in most match-ups if Tome of Knowledge can be summoned T2. Also important against Gravebone and Elementalis.

Poor Quality is resources against some Heroes such as Mage, but essential Vs Hunters and Rogues to remove Spelleater Bands, whilst letting Snow Sapphire deal with their weapons. It is also essential for What Big Teeth, and Amber.

Clinging Webs and Retreat share the same cc and therefore the same synergy with this deck although their purposes can be slightly different. Every copy of these are not always needed and depend mostly on the match-ups. They are most needed Vs Elementalis to return buffed allies or disable them long enough for abilities to destroy. Once a solid Voice of Winter is deployed with reserves in hand these can become resources with only one kept in hand.

Twice Enchanted Robe is used if possible against direct damage opponents such as Mage, Banebow, or Zaladar. It's most effective when poisoned or engulfed. Against all other types it is a resource.

Lightning Strike is slightly more important than Fireball as it takes out Gargoyles or fatties with Nishaven's abilities and can still deal damage to the hero.

Fireball can be reactive card if your Tome of Knowledge does not stick, or aggressive after you get the above strategies set up. I don't usually cast it before T5.

Only one or two Supernova is needed in most matches so you can resource early single draws of it.

Freezing Grip functions on different turns based on it's higher cc, however it's longer delay should be used on more resilient allies such as those with damage protection of higher HP or devastating abilities.

    Typical match:

    T2 Tome of Knowledge
    T3 activate draw
T4 activate draw and summon Retreat or Clinging Web
    T5 Voice of Winter

From T6 on the strategies are completely reactive, including the timing of Nishaven's ability use.

If Tome of Knowledge is not down by T2 I may only summon one or two cards before T5 as you do not want to get stuck top decking into an empty hand after T5.
