Earthen Protector vs Raven in Lance Deck

I'm currently trying to perfect my Lance deck, and I'm torn between using Earthen Protector or Raven Wildheart as the 5cc ally in my deck. Here are some pros and cons to each as I see it:

    Earthen Protector-
+Able to take down 4cc allies by himself
    +Great synergy with Aeon
+Decent synergy with Nightshade or Tainted Oracle
-Weak to mages since it dies to supernova with no other damage

    Raven Wildheart-
+6HP makes her strong enough to survive supernova
+Great synergy with Lance's SE ability
    +Strong against fatties & Sandworm
-Not able to kill 4cc allies by herself
-Less useful against creatures with abilities (PB, DMT, Jasmine)

Anyone have any additional thoughts on these two cards?

I often wonder the same thing. Been mainly playing EP since the update because of the haste kill iig draw t5 then Aeon t6 can be a winner.

Yep, I have a lot of luck with this combo as well.... until I face a mage. Then they just have to do 3 damage to Aeon (Maj & Ela can just use their SE ability), then drop a Supernova and my board is wiped.

I guess with Raven my board would be wiped except for the 3/1 Raven, which might not really do much for me.

It's not worth it considering the benefits of Aeon and EP vs everything else. If you get spell eaters down before that happens they are only hurting themselves.

Also Ep Aldon buff 1 hit kill garg. More Kills = More Draw

Why not both? I have seen many Lances playing both Raven and EP.

It's a matter of game styles. Both are good.
Aeon + EP is an huge deal, even for a mage, and it's nearly an autowin against hunters. But it's not easy to set up.
Meanwhile, Raven will be helpful, especially against Sandworms and with the 1 more health.
The thing is that you have to compensate Raven's board control in your deck if you don't play her and you have much choices to do so.

I personnaly tryed both options & finally i choose the one which fit the best in my gameplay & i did adapt my deck in consequences.
But anyway, you will find competitive decks playing either Raven or EP.

Do you use Spelleaters in QM?

I must admit I do, I know they are not essential as its not too mage heavy at my level for now. They can come in handy against shadow generally though.

Raven is great vs sandworm but they are not massively common atm and assassination handles them well, ankle breaker for everything else.

I still have problems with good mage players all things considered.

I use two spelleater bands, because many mages (more than half) are around

150% Raven. You will not find another ally with as much board control as her anytime soon, and combined with Lance's ability she's damn near unstoppable. T5 raven t6 ankle breaker will turn a game around.
