    The Building Baduuru Deck

I've recently started up a video series (link in my sig) about the drastically underplayed hero, called Building Baduuru. In it, I'm building, testing, and tweaking my own personal Baduuru list.

I ask that you refrain, at least a little, from making comments about your own lists, strategies, etc. for the hero, as I'm trying to do this without much outside influence. Instead, let this thread be more of a discussion of the current list. Possible spoilers are indeed incoming in this thread, if you haven't seen the available footage I suggest you do so before browsing.

    As of 5/21/2012:

    Hero (1)
    1x Baduuru

    Allies (16)
    4x Carniboar
    4x Keldor
    2x Death Mage Thaddeus
    3x Belladonna
    3x Shadow Knight

    Abilities (10)
    2x Shriek of Vengeance
    2x Bad Santa
    1x Sacrificial Lamb
    3x Flaming Arrow
    1x Master Smith
    1x Rapid Fire

    Items (13)
    2x Net Trap
    4x Death Trap
    3x Beetle Demon Bow
    4x Soul Seeker

    About Baduuru:

Mathematically speaking, the bad boy Baduuru has the best ability in the game. Following the Shadow Font assumption that 1SE = 1.3 resources, you're already spending 4SE for 5 resources, which is only .3 more SE than the resource cost. The +1 damage from the weapon, however, is a 2 resource hunter card, giving you 7 resources for your 5.3 worth of shadow energy. This is the ONLY hero in the game that gets profit from ability use, the only downside however being the need of a weapon in hand and the loss of a card. However, Baduuru is still mathematically the BEST hero, and that potential will be unlocked in time as more expensive weapons and/or a consistent draw engine are added to the hunter's arsenal.

My challenge is to abuse it right now.

I have some ideas already for future tweaks, how to make the deck more solid against the meta, but I'll need to do some more recorded testing sessions before making any decisions. In the mean time, feel free to make yourselves heard.

    Boweh out.

I disagree that Baduuru is the only hero that profits from his ability. Gravebone bringing back 5+ cost allies and eladwen when using ability on 5+ health fatty are both gaining what would be 5 cost for 4 shadow energy. I'm wondering why you decided against brutalis and infernal gargoyle as these allies generally stick for a turn atleast and will be able to put enemy allies into soul seeker range with their damage. I feel you will need to play very defensively if you start turn two with it only being safe to play traps and arrows. I also like poison arrow as it allows you to retake the board when you have 5 resources playing a 3cc ally and an arrow to hopefully guarantee an IG to survive. with your current deck at 5 resources you won't be able to play a 3 cost ally and a arrow which I think may cost you in some games.

    First glace, looks great.

Everybody wants to love Keldor. But is he lovable? Looks like you are trying to maximize your resource pool with this selection. Cant really comment on its viability without playing the deck, which I will try to soon.

    What about bazaars over santas?

I don't like ally choice simply because they are weak and will die. Don't see point in Bella and Boar.

Don't like some 1x cards - 1 Slamb and MSmith, go for 2 Slamb instead. Where did Poison Arrow go?

Probably needs some LLN, since you are using physical damage centered hero.

Not a fan of BDB, I think Guardian's Oath would be much better simply because it's more cost efficient for your ability and will be +3 defender which will make allies think twice before attacking you.

BDB can work in a Baduruu deck, it really can, but you're missing the other piece of the puzzle, which is Shadow Font. That being said Guardian's Oath has it's benefits too, but to maximize it you really want Night Prowler.

I see major changes over time, however I bid you well in your quest DnD. 'Tis a noble cause for sure.

Ugh, I tried to play Caitlyn's BDB Baduruu, it just doesn't work. Especially against humans.

It is a hard deck to play. I had a crack at it too and failed miserably.
