Irc for iPad

I have been playing fairly steady for this past week and I'm pretty sure I've fallen addicted to the game, so I would like to jump into irc and possibly find a guild to help take me to the next level, so as well as shamelessly advertising my free agency, I'm wondering about the best irc client for iPad.

I have questions about IRC CHAT for my iPhone

1) will any irc app work for the irc chat that everyone is using in shadow era?

2) if i get and irc chat app will i be able to use it while i am playing my shadow era app on my iPhone?

3) if it is usable at the same time would it be woth it on the end dealing with such a small screen? Roght now I am using facebook to see when someone is onlIne then we can get a game started from there on, after that just use the game chat to chat while in game.

So is irc much better than that?
