Amber Rain is still strong. I go from 0-270 by using her. Pretty high win rate.
After 270 i use priest to rank up to 290 now.

I feel priest is so versatile. They can come back from any bad situation thanks to TW.
And the control style is fun to play and fit my previous MTG preference(Yes i use blue/white in MTG)

I like control too, but I love mid-range aggro control. I'm not sure anything like this exists in SE, butthe best I ever did in M:tg was top 4 in a PTQ - it was extended back at the end of the period when dual lands where legal - I played a white, green and blue deck. I had 12 creatures (4 meddling mage, 4 Call of the Herd, 3 Mystic Enforcer, 1 Morphling), 9 Counterspells, 8 Card Draw, 4 Creature Removal, and 3 wax/wane, which could be either creature pump or enchantment removal. Also 3 faerie conclaves, lands that became creatures. It was awesome. I am continually trying to recreate that in a Shadow Era deck.

There's not much. The best hope is something like Priest - I had fun and success playing a Zhanna deck in 1.29 with lots of allies, smites, ice storms, ghostmakers, etc.

Right now I'm playing Lance, Banebow, and Zaladar.

You play my kinds of decks in MTG! Though the deck you're describing sounds a lot more like it fits the "counter-sliver" archetype...hard to call 12 creatures and no burn "aggro" in any form (sorry, I'm pedantic, I know ) I usually preferred to go UR with this strat, though when Ravnica was in Standard the UB Phyrexian Totem control build was FUN! (Use Damnation to clear the board, and turn your mana accel artifact into a 5/5 when going in for the kill )

You're right, there really isn't anything like these decks in SE right now. I tried for a loooong time before I finally had to give up, lol. Priests come pretty close though!

we need combo decks in SE!
    and more options.
Currently it's too focused on allies and board control. We don't have much option. The strategy is very limited.
They might solve it by constantly adding new sets.
At the day we have 800+cards available to choose from and increase the deck size to 50~60 then it will be very interesting.

All this will take is time, we'll get there eventually

I think they need to speed up this process.
You see in MTG, they release 1 major set every year which contains 2 subsets also a Core set. It's about 800+new cards every year.
(I think that's too fast!!!!! main reason i quit MTG, update way too fast and so expensive to keep up)
If we can get 2sets per year, about 400cards, that will be really great. (also SE is like 100times cheaper than MTG)
