i have no idea how to beat him and neither does anyone else i play, i know people dont liek half teirs( neither do i) im jsut saying, that i beleive gravebone is the best and then there are the rest

The way to beat GB is unfortunately another GB and 1 card will make the difference. PMed GDC.

Gravebone is not tier 0.

we tested for that, and were scared of that too. he can be beaten. there are several heroes and tactics that work, they are just not as obvious as people might like

Priests - zhanna is better, but jericho can handly his own too. combine retreat with tidal wave, and you have strong board control. use a few healing touches for good measure, and you should have as good a shot at beating him as any other in the game.

Warriors - amber is still stong against him. her combination of weapon play and allies makes for a tough match for anyone. combine that with some timrely retreats or crippling blows, and she also has a decent shot to beat him. Priest of the Light is a good way to go too. Boris can handle his own, but struggles more than amber early to get a grip on the board.

Elementals - zaladar is good as he can use his ability (essentially a lightning strike) once every 4 turns, and with the aid of Shadow Font, more often than that. combine that with Mind Control, and Energy Discharge, and you have strong board control. play soul reaper for health when needed. elementalis struggles a little bit more, but can compete too.

Hunters - gwen is still decent against gravebone. you need your strategy to work early, but if it does, you can usually coast to a win. victor can also compete as he can trap lock the board, and tie up gb for a good long time. recursing traps and a well timed Soul Seeker keep the game close. Use Spelleater Braces for added protection. If you're smart, you will have Lily Rosecult in the deck too. use her to recurse anything that is killed via Lay Line Nexus.


those are just the prime examples as to why gravebone is NOT tier 0. hope this helps those who're having issues with beating him.

So GB ability brings an ally into play... if on your turn you cast retreat, CB, MC, Tidal, etc... you just made his ability worthless...

But I haven't played against him to determine if I'm correct...

GB is good but very beatable. There was claims about him being T0 in the PFG A's well. But they were dismissed after testing. You just gotta figure out what your deck can do to make him tic.

I ran into the same GB player twice today when I was using DC and MS. The issue I was having trouble with was locking down Ogloth and keeping him out of play. If I killed him, he would come back next turn and summon a PB, which made it that much harder to chew through. And if I used Captured Prey he would sac with Sacrificial Lamb and then rez him. If I killed the PB first it just made Ogloth stronger.

GB is a tough matchup for DC. what kind of DC deck were you using? solo? that might cause issues for you. try using Evil Ascendant to help mitigate the damage from GB.

Try using Fangs of The Predator too. the 8 dmg (4dmg + 4dmg) can change things a ton.

Lone Wolf + Full Moon will increase your chances as well.

Sometimes you just have to ignore his allies, especially when you're playing a hero like DC... DC can definitely beat GB in 1.310 as I've watched games where he does just that.
