Actually, thank QMs for GB's slow demise. The switching all started when 1.5 hit the LS. My GB control deck couldn't handle the randomness I found in QMs and then I saw it fit to switch to something with more aggression.
Also, GB has issues with DoUs and Retreats. Those are pretty common cards these days and with the popularity of Lanceas well, the meta called for a new "Tier 0" hero.

the way I see it, GB's fall from grace comes mostly from the fact that all current tier 1 heroes (lance, majiya, elad and some might argue about moonstalker) suffer no tempo loss from their abilities..
elad freezes, majiya damages & draws and lance activates a big ally the same turn it's cast...all guaranteed results..
GB brings back an ally without any direct impact on the game, allowing the opp to plan his reaction

the power of gb is to cast 3 fatties on the board with a help of ability than its almost gg, for that he need to take a board controll from the beggining and to have a perfect draw that why its occasional.
