    Newbie here!

    Hi Everyone,

I'm new here, although I have played a few games. I first heard of Shadow Era in beta and it seems to have come a long way since then.

I'm studying sociology at school and I'm writing my thesis on people who play card games - they tend to come from all walks of life, but as to what factors unite them all under a common game type is what greatly interests me. I'll probably be looking to interview a few Shadow Era players as part of my research.

Also, I'm a backer of the physical cards, and I can't wait to get them!

Well, I'm sure you will find some friendly users around here that will offer some insight on what makes them love this sort of games, but most don't know it themselves really. Anyway, hope you will enjoy it here, have fun with the game and good luck with your research

Just wondering, how long have you played Shadow Era?

I'm seeking to gather a small group to individually interview, but they need to span the following: new players, middle-road competitive players (those seeking to make it big in this game), and successful tournament players.

That will depend on the interviewee. Clearly there are legal issues with posting things blatantly in public, so at the start of each interview, I'll ask whether I can publish it or not.

As a researcher, it's my job to protect the one being interviewed. That means if you use your real name I have to change it if I publish the article, but if you use a username and would like to keep that username in the published article, I am willing to respect that.

Interesting, Well I can point you in the direction of some Competative members, and middle of the range ones. How many from each group are you looking for?

I think it's good to have at least two successful competitive players, and three middle of the road players.

I'm thinking the more successful players would be similar in terms of meta description, what they're thinking during a game, etc. whereas the middle-road players would differ more, so I would like to interview more of them. As for newer players, I figure most new players would have the same general experience when first starting this game, so two would probably be a good number for that group.
