Maybe you should consider joining a guild if wanting to be more sociable with players and then branch out for yourself at a later date when ready. you just need to find a suitable one to join which is perhaps less dependent on current skill.

Acolytes is a good guild for new players that will be active. Since it's part of a1, you need some skill att least. However, it's the ONLY guild that a1 will allow you to have previously been a member of.

(Meaning joining guilds such as tj, asf, et cetera is an instant no from a1 if you ever feel like applying to them.)

So I always encourage new players to test the water first. Get to know the community, go on irc, chat around, BEFORE joining just any guild.

If you join one guild you can never join A1. It's the oldest and the only one with that rule for good reason.

As for acolytes, there is a thread with requirements, etc. They're very low for a reason. It's a guild specifically to help newer players but I'm not part of the admission process so I don't know if you'd get in being barely a week old
