Just wondering why group posts don't get counted? I mean I should probably not be junior by now if they were.

Maybe because Group Posts have more spam than the usual post on the public forum or because it's just limited to a few members,so it wouldn't be fair to those who aren't in any group,this if post count would matter which it doesn't IMO.

I'm pretty sure that's the vBulletin default. Group posts aren't necessarily forum posts, just like blog posts, therefore are not counted towards your "post count".
