i havent played with a preconstructed deck before. do you mean it isnt built for you after you buy it? you have to put it together yourself? that would be odd

They don't show up as preconstructed decks when you buy them. You just get all the cards, then you would have to put them all back together manually.
It's like you bought a bunch of physical preconstructed decks, but then you just dumped the cards in with all your other cards, shuffled it all, then picked them apart into the decks again to put them back into their boxes before using them for play.
So, yeah, not even remotely like preconstructed decks in the playable sense, though that's not what my original question was entirely about.
Starter packs automatically saved after purchase will be implemented in an upcoming release. That way it's more convenient. If it's implemented prior to multiple save slots and you don't have any free save slots for the heroes, it won't automatically save.
