I could not reproduce this problem. Could it be a virus scanner or something that is interfering with a false positive?
If you're still having problems with it, you can always download the game...

Confirmed the missing exhaust overlay. It's just a visual problem though, but big enough issue to warrant a hotfix. Should be updated today as 3.661
