Wow, that's very low resolution! I didn't even know we supported that.

Having tried 800*600 myself, I can see the same issue of the text appearing under the box in the in-game chat.
The messages...

Hmm. That does not happen for me. I am on El Capitan.

EDIT: I think it only happens on certain resolutions. Which do you have?
