Plague is nowhere near as bad. In the case of plague, you lose the resources as well. So, a turn 4 plague drops them to 0 resources and you to 1...then you are just right back where you started.

When you Mind Control a card, then you become owner of that card for the rest of the game. It goes to your graveyard when it dies too. This isn't a bug as far as I know of.
