Crown 2021- A WC Qualifying event hosted by Team Juggernauts
It is with great pleasure that I announce the commencement of sign-ups for our annual tournament, Crown!
Sign-ups begin now, will conclude Tuesday, September 14th at 19:00 EST
Format:
-7 round swiss, Bo5 per round, meaning every player is slated for 7 matches, regardless of record.
-1 CLASS PER ROUND. each class may only be used for one round through the entirety of the tournament. Classes are warrior, hunter, mage, rogue, priest, wulven, and elemental.
-Choose 2 heros from the class you have chosen. It's unwise to reveal what you have chosen before the start of the match. Choose your second hero of the round after the first 2 are finished.
- each player uses one hero for games 1 and 2, a second hero for games 3 and 4, and either hero if game 5 is necessary. (E.g. use boris in games 1 and 2, amber in games 3 and 4, then either boris or amber for game 5)
-decklock per round. You are not allowed to add tech after games 1, 3 and 4.
-1 week allotted per round
Rules:
After confusion and debate about the correct way to handle scoring and tiebreakers in the past few years, we will be going with the rules used in official Magic events. Rules will be explained via tourney chat. *there will be a top cut to determine WC tickets. Format for that TBD*
if someone has an opponent that no shows, it will be treated as a bye.
If the round isn't played due to a no show, bye, or other reason, both (or all it applies to) players will be assigned the most popular class choice for that round that they still have available. So, if you've already used that class, you'll be assigned the 2nd just popular, etc.
-FTA: Game 1 random. Every subsequent game will be losers choice.
- games tied will be replayed with the same player going first and same decks.
- disconnects count as a win for the other player unless both players agree to replay.

-DEADLINES ARE FIRM. extreme circumstances will be considered. But TJ Downsmash is your TO. Play your matches. If a deadline passes, TO will collect evidence from both parties regarding each players effort to schedule. If a decision can't be made, the match results in a draw.
-ALL DECISIONS ARE FINAL. Any excess complaining or arguing can and will result in your expulsion from the tournament and tournament room. Any issues should be brought up via PM.
- CONTACT YOUR OPPONENT WITHIN 48 HOURS OF THE ROUND START. Prolonged, unannounced inactivity may result in a round loss or being dropped from the tournament.
IF YOU BREAK A RULE, YOU WILL BE PENALIZED. (Deck constraints, hero choices result in a game loss. Picking a previously used class results in a round loss. If a player who was supposed to have FTA forgot to click *creator goes first* and goes 2nd as a result, play the match. Losing FTA is punishment enough.)
REPEAT WARNINGS WILL NOT BE GIVEN FOR MISGIVINGS IN CHAT. light trash talk is expected, but slander, badgering and harassment are not permitted under any circumstances. Again, file your grievances via PM.
PRIZES:
Standard prizes- PT points assigned by the committee for all participating members who register at least 1 win.
1st place: $500
2nd place: $250
3rd place: $100
The top 3 players not already qualified for WC at the time of the conclusion of this tournament will also be given WC tickets.
