What source do you use to download the game? Official website?
This is normal and needs to be addressed by @Kyle and team.
Apple's MacOS refuses to load unsigned software by default, meaning that Wulven need to apply for a code-signing key from Apple's developer program. This should not be a prohibitive or very difficult task and will ensure that Shadow Era will play on MacOS.
There is a work-around, insofar that you can go into System Preferences -> GateKeeper and click the Open Anyway button. But that should only be done for the .pkg or .zip downloaded from the Shadow Era website. All in all it'd be better if the application was properly signed by the dev-team.
