Majiya - Resurgence

a deck i built in the first PFG... had a little fun with it then... and some later once 1.5 was released.

4x wulven tracker
1x ogloth the glutten

4x fireball
4x lightning strike
2x poison gas
2x engulfing flames
4x research (tome of knowledge)
2x arcane burst
2x snow sapphire
2x dagger of unmaking

maj's ability, wulven tracker and tome of knowledge for draw. very similar to the gravebone mage of death deck. similar make up and style of building... you could very well use this same deck build with GB.

yes, poison gas and engulfing flames... i love those cards and wish they only cost 3cc. easily worth the cc cost but the tempo loss at the wrong time can be harsh... their only problem.

no supernova but 4 FB, 4LS and 2 arcane burst for burn. i wanted to have 4 arcane but i also wanted to keep the deck count low. possibly tech out snow sapphire and the other 2. you could also tech out the wulven trackers and add 2 arcane and 2 bad santas.

Nice deck, something that new player might like. I think Snow Sapphire fits nicely with DoTs in this deck.

it is very easy to play... so yeah, a good deck for beginner's... but its not just for them :)

No supernovas? in a mage deck?

4 fireballs, 4 LS, 2 arcane bursts, 2 snow sapphires, 2 daggers and an oggy... what do you need supernova for :)

You've left Supernova out of quite a few of your decks I've noticed. Bad experiences?

i dont really like the card (dont like tidal wave either... but i LOVE energy discharge... THAT ONE, makes sense to me)... playing it usually loses the game for me. maybe i wait too long to play it or play it too soon... dont know.

and the other thing... most of the time you play it... you are losing. but then you play it and then what? it cost 5cc, huge tempo loss... how many of us play mages and go above 6cc? (and only that to do a double fireball) so you wipe the board and they get another ally or three out first. and you need to supernova again

im not ashamed either :) just like i CAN'T play Amber... i dont know what it is. i have played other peoples decks and know their strategy... i just can't do well with her. so i dont really play her (other than my stripper amber, but thats a whole different strategy... so no rude comments :p )... just like supernova. and when i have supernova in a mage deck... its there for the kill only. im at 6 or more and they are 5 or less. simple and easy... then supernova makes sense to play :)

Love it in my Gravebone deck......

But I get where you're coming from totally. It is a huge loss of tempo. I do find it useful in an Elad deck if her ability is charged, so you can shutdown the next ally out and have a chance to get your board going.
