This bit I disagree with though. HBM (and resource destruction in general) is ok at best going second. It's very powerful going first.

Going first, you get to set up on turns 2 and 3 (and even 4) and then you can play your resource destruction on turns 4 or 5 to prevent your opponent from going to 5 resources.

Going second, you must play resource destruction on turn 3 or 4 to delay your opponent's 5cc plays. You have one less turn to impact the board and this alone can cost you the game if your opponent has a good start.

My experience with resource denial decks is that they're more prone to FTA than other decks.

It is a comprehensive article although you should rename it something like Drawing Power - A Brief Analysis of Card Draw. At least readers know what to expect when seeing the title.

regarding HBM, I guess it could go either way whether or not the player has FTA, I just see it better when going second because ideally you would not have to skip a turn to resource not like if u have FTA where u would have to withhold resourcing for one turn in order to get HBM's full potential.

It occurred to me that some of the Heroes have a type of pseudo-draw, as well, like Gravebone's raising the dead, the Warriors' Reserved Weapon, etc.
