3 Ways To Qualify!

#1: Be A Champion!

Seed#1 goes to last year's World Champion (SET Tommytpr)

Seeds 2-7 Have been allocated to the Champions of each Sanctioned Guild - set in random order as follows:

Seed#2: SET Champion (SET Atlas)
Seed#3: BP Champion (BP Emigor)
Seed#4: TJ Champion (TJ Scout)
Seed#5: RS Champion (RS Flameborn)
Seed#6: A1 Champion (A1 Fakekiki)
Seed#7: Black Templars (BT Downsmash)

Sanctioned Guild Champions must be selected by January 10th, 2023.

#2: Win & You're In!

Seed # 8-23 will be granted in order to the top 16 finishers in QM Rating (not score, not ranking) in January 2023. NOTE: You must have at least 100 QM games played in January to qualify.

#3: Qualify in a Regional Tournament!

The remaining entries will be selected in a series of 3 Regional Tournaments to be held in late January / Early February of 2023. Regional Tournaments have always been a part of Shadow Era, but this year and moving forward, they will be a little different. These are designed to allow a new or returning player with skill to have a shot at WC qualification even if they don't have time to grind their way in during the January event.

The path will not be easy. First, Second, and Third place finishes in each regional will be guaranteed entry to the WC. The 9 WC seeds populated by those placing in the Regionals will be matched up against the returning World Champion, one of this year's Guild Champions, or the 1st and 2nd place finishers of the Win & You're In contest described above.

Each Regional Tournament will begin 1 week from the last, each starting on the following schedule:

Regional Tournament 1: January 28th, 2023
Regional Tournament 2: February 4th, 2023
Regional Tournament 3: February 11th, 2023

These Regional Tournaments will have an entry fee of $25 per person. Entry will include a package of 2000 SC, 4 PACs, and 24 Booster Packs (6 from each type). This should allow you to get whatever cards you need to update your decks to the current meta.

NOTE: There will certainly be a 3-max round in each of the Regionals as well as a 3-max round in the World Championship itself.

FAQ (to be updated as questions come in)

Q: What if I qualify for the World Championship Twice?
A: If you qualify more than once (say, you are the returning World Champion and ALSO in the top 16 finishers on rating in January), you will get to enter only once, at the best seeding you qualify for. Your other qualifying slot will fall to the next eligible player.

Q: Can I enter more than one Regional?
A: Yes. If you wish to do so, you may. Again, you may only qualify once for WC, in the highest seed you qualify for.

Q: If someone uses an alt to enter the same Regional or the World Championship more than once, what will happen to them?
A: Permanent ban from all future competitive play and DQ from the tournament. Keep it clean people.

If we had a year long qualifier i would understand the $ entry fee but with all so rushed is kinda unfair and will play against the number of participants.
