An analysis of the Rage Quit

Yall know what I'm talking about. You have been dominating a match and then BAM...you end up waiting 3-5 minutes because your opponent closes the program instead of playing the game out or starting another challenge. It can be pretty annoying.

I have read several forum posts where someone (or someones) have raged against the rage quitters and there is always someone who comes to the defense of the offenders. Well I'm not raging as I count a win as a win and I don't feel my time is wasted as I general have several differant things going on at the same time. I have found something interesting though and thought I might share it with anyone who is bored enough to read this.

Now keep in mind I have only been playing SE for a few months so if this has been done before then I apologize for the repeat. Also its only been slightly longer than a month since I started taking note of the infamous Rage Quit so there is a margin of error here.

First I should state that I know not every disconnect is a Rage Quit. Sometimes you are playing a game when your wife drives through the Lincoln Tunnel...boom, disconnect. Or maybe you are at your home computer when a semi plows through your lining room crushing your modem, again not your fault. Then there's my favorite, your chillin at the beach checking out chicks and playin on your laptop when some ne'er-do-wells (sp) throw a ton of bread in your direction, then a flock of seagulls assault your keyboard, pushing all kinda buttons including the power off spot. I have tried not to count any of thoughs situations but one or two may have slipped by.

I have only counted disconnects where they happened at the end of a game where I was obviously winning. Then I searched that players name to see if he had 3 or more early outs when losing. Only after meeting that criteria did I then count that as a bonified Rage Quit. Then, just to be safe and err on the side of accidents I subtracted 2 from each number. Here are the results of my findings.

So without further ado here are the results:

Most rage quites are done by "elementals"
The second most are done by "lone wolfs"
the smallest amount are done buy "decks with more than 50 cards"

Now you may be thinking to yourself, why should this be, why elementals, why fat decks, etc. etc. Well lets think about this for a moment. Whats an elemental?

An elemental is a force of nature. He is pure energy. He will take your allies and break them against you. He is perpetually mad generating damage every 4 rounds. He steals your ideas. He is basically a spoilt ass kid throwing a tantrum. And everyone knows that no one rages like a punk ass kid with out any discipline.

The lone wolf has no friends, no one to watch his back. All he ever has is hisself and when things dont go his way he blames it on the draw. It's never his own fault. He will tell you that over and over if you ever read his slightly deranged notebooks he writes in daily. He is a ticking timebomb of rage wearing a trenchcoat and black lipstick.

A fat deck is always hungry for more, more cards, more allies, more KFC, more high blood pressure. Who's rage is more devestating than a fat man suffering from pudding withdrawal? No one, thats who.

Case in point...watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-kIxaY_D6A

Please do not take any offense to anything I may have written.

Hmm..surprisingly in my experience, most rage quits are done by mages(read: Eladwen) who fail to get the t1-4 rush going and quit the next turn. Or if you crush their early kris->puwen->aldon/jas/potl rush, they quit most of the times.
Probably because they exhaust their hand very quickly, so they have little chance of coming back if you are able to crush their early rush.
