Card Ideas Week 5

Rating: 5 votes, 4.20 average.
Thank you to all who visited last week and added suggestions! I’ve loving all the feedback and reading all your own card ideas also.

So, as promised, here are the human allies with a sub class. Sort of to mirror the Blood Sister I introduced last week.

Let me introduce: The Crystal Guards!

Name: Crystal Knight (Sir Kinsey)
Type: Crystal Guards
Cost: 5
Atk/Def: 3 / 5
Effect: Crystal Knight can attack twice.
Flavor: The speeds of their steeds are legendary.
Art: A Silver knight plowing through enemy lines (strangely, I seriously couldn’t find art for this)

Name: Crystal Adapt (Private Calhoun)
Type: Crystal Guards
Cost: 3
Atk/Def: 3 / 3
Effect: 2 resource. Crystal Adapt gains the ability of target ally until your next turn.
Flavor: Watch and Learn.
Art: Something like this.

Name: Crystal Sorcerer (Alex Fadeshifter)
Type: Crystal Guards
Cost: 4
Atk/Def: 1 / 5
Effect: -1 life. Return target ally to top of owner’s hand.
Flavor: It takes much energy to undo what’s done.
Art: Something like this.

Name: Crystal Beastmaster - (Audrey)
Type: Crystal Guards
Cost: 3
Atk/Def: 3 / 3
Effect: Crystal Beastmaster is immune from ALL Wulven spells and abilities.
Flavor: Growing up in the wild has its advantages!
Art: Something like this.

Name: Crystal Archon (Braydon Wisever)
Type: Crystal Guards
Cost: 5
Atk/Def: 4 / 4
Effect: If Crystal Archon damage an Elemental Hero – that hero loses 2 shadow points.
Flavor: You’re made of pure energy. HA! I EAT energy for breakfast!
Art: Something like this

Name: Crystal Champion (Aldrich Silverhelm)
Type: Crystal Guards
Cost: 6
Atk/Def: 4 / 6
Effect: All Crystal Guards gain +2 health.
Flavor: Rally to me!
Art: Something like this

Name: Crystal Altar
Type: Human Item
Cost: 5
Effect: When a friendly ally die, heal all friendly ally by 1 health. When a Crystal Guard comes into play, draw a card.
Flavor: They say light from the altar is a mixed gift. A life lost of the benefit of all.
Art: Two silver/white angelic statues guarding each side of a large door slightly ajar with light streaming from inside through the crack.

I was thinking of going together with the Crystal theme (Shaow Crystals after all). My imagination is a bunch of warriors all with a shard of this magical crystal and therefore brings about unique powers in the individual. Would also be awesome if they all had slightly different colour themes. Like the Beastmaster is mainly green, the Champion is mainly blue.

I'm not the best at making up names, but for the sake of keeping names of allies I decided to put them in brackets. (I don't see why they can't just normal soliders... and why all the other human allies seem to have names... )

So next week, I'll put in a bunch of misc odds and ends before I go back to some themes.

Great ideas once again, ROAR. Although I think that the creatures you're suggesting (with shards of crystal embedded in them) would fit more with Shadow creatures than with Light, but that's my opinion. Anyway, been thinking about what you said last week that we should avoid "standard" fantasy races so this time I've two races to suggest and an epic Light ally, so let's begin:
Celestial (you have to have angels in SE, it's not a proper fantasy card game without them )
    Celestial Protector
    3
    2/4
1 resource: Heal the selected ally for 2hp.
    Art: Celestial Protector

    Celestial Warrior
    4
    3/5
4 resources: Celestial Warrior can attack twice this turn.
    Art: Celestial Warrior

    Celestial Avenger
    6
    4/7
Fire aura: Enemy heroes and allies that attack Celestial Avenger take 2 damage in addition to normal combat damage.
    Art: Celestial Avenger

Highborn (Humans infused with the power of Light)
    Highborn Witch Hunter
    3
    2/3
Highborn Witch Hunter can attack twice per turn.
    Art: Highborn Witch Hunter

    Highborn Inquisitor
    5
    4/5
Highborn Inquisitor can not be targeted by spells or abilities.

    Highborn Grand Inquisitor
    7
    4/7
Aura of Light: Any friendly allies near Highborn Grand Inquisitor get +1/+2
5 resources: Highborn Grand Inquisitor can attack twice this turn.

I couldn't find any suitable pictures for the Inquisitor and Grand Inquisitor, probably because the Spanish Inquisition burned all the pictures from the internet :P

And finally, the epic Light ally:
    Avatar of Purity
    9
    4/5
Avatar of Purity can only be destroyed by spells like Super Nova, Tidal Wave etc.
Only one Avatar of Purity can be present on the battlefield.
Shadow allies can not use their activated abilities and passive abilities on Shadow allies are negated while the Avatar is on the field.
    Art: Avatar of Purity

Way overpowered imo... (Then again, I'm a Zaladar player )

Summing up these creations, I think the whole Crystal Guard is way op

    But a funny idea

    Here's mine...

    Name: Crystal Shard

Effect: Sacrifice a Crystal Guard: Crystal Shard deals 6 damage diveded any way you choose amongst any number of targets.
    Flavor: "Take that..."

Isn't this the picture of Cryshal Tirith from Icewind Dale? In light of other 5 resource cards (Tidal Wave, Supernova) I think it may be a bit overpowered since it is an item and you can use it multiple times when you're in a bind unlike Supernova or Tidal Wave which you have to draw first, this item stays on the field until it is destroyed.

Interesting idea. At first I was going to claim it being overpowered.. but in light of Shriek killing an item for 1 resource... I think this should be alright.

WHAO!! Man!!! Celestials! So awesome! Okay... I"m going to keep them in mind and think about ideas around Celestials next time. Yeah... I did love the angels in my deck! The idea of high borns are cool too! Angels mixing up with us humans! hahahaha. Awesome pics you've found as well!

Just Avatar of purity seems a bit too uber powerful... But for 9 resources... I guess will be a very late game entry... to either seal the victory or help you come back from the ashes.

Thanks for visiting and droping feedback. I appreciate it.
Good catch above: It should say owner's hand. (I was originally going to say top of library.. but decided to change it to hand - thus the mix up.

Can you explain a bit on why specifically you think they are a bit too powerful? In particular response to Crystal Archon... I felt that he was pretty much on par with Raven ( I based the card looking at Raven).
    Re stats: 5 cost... for a 3 5 vs. 5 cost for a 4 4
Re Ability: Raven affects pretty much all allies and is useful in all decks. Archons is only really useful against Elementals and you can't predict who you fight so would be less useful.

I do like your crystal shard idea.

Hmm.... I think its not bad. Assuming its 6 damage divided. therefore... you can do. 2 dmg to 3 allies or 3 dmg to 2 allies, 1 dmg to 6 allies (I think you get the point).

So its not quite a tidal wave in which it is a complete board wipe no matter how little or many allies are on board. I guess the limiting factor is that you have to sac a crystal guard. which can potentially mean sacrificing an ally so you have to sort of take into account of that ally's casting cost and its opportunity cost.

But a powerful card none the less and prob deserve a rare card status.
