Card Ideas Week 4

Welcome to week 4 of new card ideas. Thank you again to all those who visited last week and gave some feedback.

This week, I decided to focus on making up some sub-class group of allies. If you like more explanation on what I mean by “sub-class” please look in this tread. But basically it means having similar allies put together to form a group – so that we can have more interesting abilities and effects.

Today I’ll show you some ideas for Shadow allies, and an example of an item that’ll have some useful effects on the whole subclass.

Next week I’ll do the same for Human allies.

Again, feedback is very much welcome.

So… let me introduce a group of shadow allies called…

Blood Sisters

Name: Blood Seeker
Type: Shadow ally: Blood Sister
Casting Cost: 4
Akt/Def: 2 / 4
Ability: Deals double damage to damaged allies.
Flavor: The smell of blood puts her in a frenzy.
Art: Something like this. Or a dark female character half covered in blood with her dagger soaked in blood.

Name: Blood Maiden
Type: Shadow ally: Blood Sister
Casting Cost: 2
Atk/Def: 2 / 2
Ability: Blood Maiden gains the ability of the next enemy ally to be put into graveyard.
Flavor: Watch carefully, you’ll only see it once!
Art: Something like this.

Name: Blood Witch
Type: Shadow ally: Blood Sister
Casting Cost: 4
Atk/Def: 2 / 4
Ability: Blood Witch lose 1 life. Deal 2 damage to target ally.
Flavor: Blood is power.
Art: Something like this. Or this.

Name: Blood Heretic
Type: Shadow ally: Blood Sister
Casting Cost: 3
Atk/ Def: 2 / 2
Ability: Deals Double damage when attacking a Priest hero.
Flavor: Your “faith” is nothing!
Art: Something like this.

Name: Blood Stalker: 4
Type: Shadow Ally: Blood Sister
Casting Cost: 4
Atk/Def: 2 / 4
Ability: Deals Double damage when attacking a Rogue hero.
Flavor: You call yourself the master of shadow? HA!
Art: Something like this.

Name: Blood Queen
Type: Shadow Ally: Blood Sister
Casting Cost: 6
Atk/Def: 5 / 5
Ability: All Blood Sisters gain +1 / +1
Flavor: Fear not my sister. I have come.
Art: Something like this.

Name: Blood Ritual
Type: Shadow item
Casting cost: 4
Ability: Sacrifice an ally. Restore target ally’s health. All blood sisters gain +1 atk until the end of turn.
Flavor: Bring me a slave. A fresh one!
Art: A human bound up kneeling on the floor. A dark female character holding a dagger above her head about to strike down in a very ritualistic way.

So... please give some advice/feedback.

    Okay, here we go:
    Oozes
    Ochre Jelly

    When an Ochre Jelly is killed it splits into two 1/1 Ochre Jellies.

    Black Pudding

    Black Pudding deals 1 damage to two allies you select when it is killed.

    Elder Shadow Slime

    Every other Ooze creature gets +1/+1 and the damage it receives is reduced by -1.

    Goblins
    Goblin Runt

    Goblin Runt gets +1/+1 for every other Goblin Runt in play.

    Goblin Bombardier

    Sacrifice Goblin Bombardier: Deal 4 damage to selected ally.

    Goblin Warchief

    Other Goblin creatures get +1/+1 and can attack the same turn they come into play.

    Orcs
    Orc Berserker

    Orc Berserker gets a permanent +1 increase to his attack value every time he attacks an enemy ally.

    Orc Shaman

    While the Orc Shaman is on the battlefield attack and hp values of all enemy allies are reduced by -1.
    4 Shadow energy: The attack value of the selected ally is reduced to 0.

    Orc Warlord

    While the Orc Warlord can attack an enemy ally or hero, Orc Berserkers can attack twice per turn.

    Wulven
    Wulven Warrior

    3/3
    If the Wulven Warrior kills an enemy ally he gets +1/+1 until the start of your next turn.

    Wulven Hunter

    2/5
    Select an enemy ally: if the Wulven Hunter does not attack an enemy ally or hero by the start of your next turn, destroy the selected ally.

    Wulven Packmaster

    6/4
    Wulven creatures get +1 attack for every enemy ally on the field.

    Were-beasts
    Wererat

    2/2
    1 resource: Summon a 1/1 Rat token that can attack the same turn.

    Wereboar

    3/3
    Every time the Wereboar attacks an enemy ally, it deals 1 damage to adjacent enemy allies.

    Werebear

    5/5
    3 resources: Werebear can attack two times this turn, but must rest for one turn afterwards before he can attack again.

    Zombie Minion

    Zombie Minion gets +1 attack whenever he attacks an enemy hero or ally.
    1 resource: Zombie Minion can attack twice this turn.

    Zombie Warrior

    1 resource: Zombie Warrior gets +1/-1 until the end of your turn.

    Zombie Overlord

    All other Zombie creatures get +2 attack.
    3 resource: Return target Zombie creature in your graveyard into play. It can attack the same turn.

    Leonids (Lion people) (I think they would fit more into the Light side than with Shadow)

    Select a friendly ally: Until the start of your next turn, Leonid Knight will receive all damage inflicted on the selected ally.

    Leonid Paladin

    3 resources: Heal the selected ally for 2 hp.

    Arachnid
    Arachnid Webspinner

    2 Resource: The selected ally can not attack or defend for 2 turns.

    1 Resource: The selected ally gets -1/-1 until the end of your turn.
    5 Resource: Two selected allies can not attack or defend until the start of your next turn.

    Thanks man. They're great ideas. I'm glad people are catching onto the idea of having types of creatures.

    Just have a few general comments
    1) Although your idea with Orcs and Goblins are great - I thought that SE has been pretty unique and not had the "traditional" fantasy creatures - ie. Elves, Dwaves, Orcs, etc etc. So I thought I'd try and stay away from making cards with those creatures.

    2)That being said... I guess I really like the Leonid idea! I remembered seeing a few potential good art work for Leonids. Maybe this can be a Leonid Knight. And this THe Leonid Paladin. Pretty cool eh?

    I hope it was decaff Anyway, since I'm a long time D&D player (10 years and counting) I've seen some pretty strange s***. Arachnid idea was based on the Driders from D&D and Leonid (really love the illustrations) already exist in MTG under a different name: Leonin. Anyway, here's my inspiration for the Leonid: Ajani Goldmane. And a picture of a Drider: Drider

    Here's another one I've suggested for epic shadow ally:
    Name: Angel of Torment
    Cost: 6 or 7
    Attack/HP: 4/7
    Effect: As long as Angel of Torment is on the field all creatures get -2/-2.
    6 resources: Return Angel of Torment from your graveyard to your hand.
    Flavor text: Your screams of torment are music to my ears...
    Art: Angel of Torment

    Whao... awesome art! And interesting idea! Would be pretty uber powerful... so I'd prob say 7 casting cost. I like the fact that you've made it cost 6 resources to bring it back... so you can't just keep spamming it out everytime it dies - would cost too much to bring back and recast in 1 turn. Gives them a chance to regroup at least.

    Can't wait for your list of ideas too!

    I really love GENZOMAN's artwork on deviantart, he has some really amazing work that would fit really well into Shadow Era. As for the shadow epic ally, I was a long time mono black player in MTG and I really miss some of the cards from there like Megrim, Mind Rot etc. and the effect on this card is meant to evoke the effect of some of the more expensive black creature cards in MTG that would hurt you as much as they would hurt your opponent.

    Ah... a mono black deck player eh? It was because of people like you that I changed from a mono green player to a blue/red player. hahahahaha
