During the final moments of the game, I still had 5 HP left and Xylos had 10 HP left. I placed an Aldon and a Puwen and ended my turn. When it is Xylos's turn, he casted a Shriek of Vengeance, then I lost the game when the Defeat screen appears suddenly. I've watched the replay and it shows the same situation.
