      Season 19 Results

Congratulations to our players who showed mastery of the cards and battled it out to secure their place in the top 100 for Season 19! The Alpha Predator guild had a strong showing this season, securing the top four places. Well done!

      Game Updates

We were able to start Season 20 with version 2.86 rolling out to all our platforms! Given the Mac App store delays, our Mac players can download the update directly from our website. It included a slew of balance changes and bug fixes. Our players have been interested in ways to earn free Shadow Crystals in-game, so we are testing things out with our Android users. Now you can pick up your free daily digital reward of a free random card each day, and then gaze into the glowing embers to have a vision of strange worlds and get some good fortune. You can check back on the world map later to see if there are more embers for you to peer into. Also, in the merchant where you buy shadow crystals, the “earn crystals” button is back, giving you many ways to earn shadow crystals without spending money. So far the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, so we hope to roll out these features to our other platforms soon.

      Downloads

Player’s desktops and phone backgrounds are getting a makeover with our new download page! Having some high resolution artwork available for download is something that has been requested a lot on our Shadow Era Facebook group, and we’re happy to hook you up with 13 branded art pieces to choose from. Grab a high resolution picture of Death Collector or Priest of the Light and enjoy the full epic artwork on your desktop or phone. You can even make studying or cleaning your room more epic by downloading the official Shadow Era music! We’re keeping a list of requests, so let us know if there is more artwork you want to see or another type of download.

      Recent Changes

Our gameplay interface has gotten a lot of improvement recent: darkened background, targeting lines, and playmats. The improvements are even more noticeable when you look at some old screenshots from early versions, like in this French review of the game here! This photo caused a lot of reminiscing from our long time players on our Facebook page! Outside of the gameplay, we’ve also been improving the user interface screens in the last few updates. The login screen got a facelift, picking booster packs in the Meltdown have been animated and given a more realistic feel, and players now have an end game report with statistics on their battle. We’ve been continuing our work on this and players can expect further improvements to the user interface as we continue to give the game a makeover and make the navigation more intuitive. Stay tuned!

      Double EXP and gold weekend

In the physical realm, we started selling individual foils on the Shadow Era Online Store! Get them before they all sell out! The physical game is really taking off and we now have many stores holding weekly events and regular tournaments. You can check out all the scheduled events in our calendar. If you are a Shadow Era player who wants to oversee tournaments or a store looking to stock Shadow Era and hold events, check out our Champions Program. We were happy this week to announce Shadow Era involvement in the Extra Life charity event, which raises money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. We’re hooking up our players who are doing their gaming at local stores for the event - let us know about your team! Team Annabelle will be at All things Fun in West Berlin, New Jersey for 24 hours on October 25 to October 26th. Come out and support this great cause or create your own team! To help promote the Extra Life cause, we’re giving all our Shadow Era players double experience and double gold that weekend! We challenge all our guilds to step up and play for a great cause!

      Fan Sites

If you haven’t done so already, check out the fan site ShadowEra.net. They recently relaunched and we’re impressed with the coverage and information that is there. With of lots of articles, deck lists, and links to videos, this is going to be a site you’ll often! We especially liked their Hero Profile section which can be useful in choosing what Hero to build your next deck around and what to expect when facing each hero.
