    • Champions of Shadow Era

We're excited to announce the new Champions of Shadow Era program! We're looking for some great local product champions to promote and organize the physical game!

      Program Overview

With the release of the Dark Prophecies expansion, Shadow Era is set to break into the physical market in a big way. The quality of the game and the gameplay are top notch, and now we need to spread the word!

The Champions of Shadow Era will be responsible for organizing games in their area, contacting stores, and doing game demos. Their names will be listed on the website so players can more easily find local groups to play with. Our goal is to recruit at least one Champion in every major city!

Physical tournaments organized by Champions will be officially recorded and count towards a global physical leaderboard.

      Benefits

Besides all the fame and glory, you'll be getting a lot of great loot to show off the game! Playmats, class decks, foils, tokens and shadow crystals, a custom t-shirt, and much more. Champions that host a lot of tournaments and introduce the game to more people will level up and get access to more and better stuff.

      How to Apply

Send an email to champions@shadowera.com with details about your background, stores you know in your area, and why you would make a good Champion!

      Meet Your Champions!

The champions page is now live with more 60 people around the world. View the worldwide map at http://www.shadowera.com/champions

        I encourage physical SE!
        at 2018.....

IMO we could have 2 expansion every year if wulven focus on the digital one.
Beta test --> Balancing patch on Beta Server --> Release on Live Server--> Balancing patch on Live Server

After SE got about more than 10 expansions, iam sure its easy to print the first 3 expansion to physical form.

yes digital one is the future... I mean at first beat every tcg out there and be very popular... for example be as much popular as angry birds then stay there a bit then bolster physical tournaments.... and before letting people themselves organize tournaments in real world, wulven should organize few...

I disagree. If Wulven can somehow either hire more people or get better organized and split into two teams, one for physical and one for digital, I don't see why they cannot expand in the physical world to try to attract more players that will eventually end up on the digital world. It might be the only way to reach players that don't get on PC gaming as much or only play physical.

Prove ur responsibility on the first task before u dare to ask for the second
        (address that to Wulven )

I don't really see how diversifying your product and getting it seen by more people is a bad thing. Obviously it requires more resources but that doesn't make it impossible or even unlikely.

Face it guys even if it may be several years or well over a decade from now SE will eventually have the plug pulled. All great things come to an end someday. Would you rather have a physical product with bonus shadow crystals or lose every penny in the end. I'd rather actually own something I can keep rather than something that doesn't exist and will have no choice but to give it up when the time comes.
Physical assets > bits of data I don't actually own.
        That's just me though.

Or how bout think positive instead of saying "everything will have its plug pulled" Because magic is still going strong as ever. Shadow Era has the potential to be just as good as magic with its fan base. We are being giving a special opportunity and, sadly, I dont think many people realize this.

We could be part of a new ccg boom. Everyone I show shadow era too fell in love. I, for one, plan on helping as much as I can to get the physical version to take off. I have already brought many MANY friends to the digital. The ONLY issue is that dark prophecies needs to start being sold in the market place. The first set gives very limited choices for combos. Dark prophecies fills that gap. Shattered fates expands on it.

You guys are going in the right direction Kyle. Create new cards --> beta test with the digital --> reword any cards to avoid infinite combos --> release physical. Its the one thing magic does not have that you guys do perfect. test with digital then release physical. SMART!

Well, I lost a massive online collection of Lord of the Rings TCG when the plug on that was pulled. But the key was that I played soooo many more games with those virtual cards than my physical ones, and playing online made my physical games better when I did play in person.

SE works exactly the same in that regard, except you don't have to buy overpriced virtual cards here to mirror your physical collection, because about three booster boxes of physical should give you enough redeem codes to have a complete online playset. Or you can just grind online and collect just an online collection. Other games charge physical prices for their online booster packs, which is where the risk of the plug-pulling might weigh on your mind.

Where am I going with this? Well, I think the dual aspect of SE with online and physical is brilliant. For most players, it's gone in the wrong direction (from online to physical) to seem like the great value that it is because they started with the cheap online cards. If you collect physical first, at normal TCG prices, then it becomes clear how much of an overall bargain this TCG is really is.

Pretty much, I'd much rather buy the physical cards and use the codes to play online. Not only do I get to have a physical product I can keep for a lifetime with proper care but I can also play the online game as well. As some one who played the Pokemon and physical MTG games I feel that it's a much better deal that way I have gotten around 30,000 SC but I never bought a single one directly. They're all from promotions such as the DP preorder, SF Kick Starter, or the booster pack codes. I know my comments may be off putting to some but IMO it just make much more sense to get something real if I'm going to pay my hard earned cash for it. That's what I hate about MTG online, they charge the same retail price as the physical cards ($4 a pack) but you get nothing real from it.

Awesome. Reason I got interested in playing the iPad game was because I heard there was going to be physical cards soon. I'd love to be able to collect and play the physical cards as well as play online. Hopefully this comes out soon.

The cards are already out just just order them form the online store. Each booster pack comes with a redeemable code that will give you 100-200 free shadow crystals. So you can get 2400-4800 SC a box. That's enough to buy the same number of online booster packs as physical ones and more. There'll be a delay on you order though since the DP physical expansion started shipping recently and the distributors are extremely busy.

You can find the store here: http://www.shadowera.com/store/
Seems some stuff isn't available at the moment, you'll have to wait a bit for the DP boosters but the COTC boosters can be ordered now. There's also free shipping on all orders of $100 or more so it's best to buy the boxes in pairs.

I personally love the idea of pulling out a binder of cards and physically constructing a deck, walk/drive to a place, and play against friends. I did play alot online on my droid, but the idea of having all of your cards right there infront of you in physical form seems like soo much more fun than swiping and clicking away at a screen. I will say this hower: playing online is great because of the online gamers, you always have an opponent.

I don't see how this game can fail if Wulven keeps advancing. Its all in progress and evolution, build on what you have established. Its brilliant having a digital and physical game both from an entertainment and business stand point. Yugioh has a digital format officially and unofficially and its doing well. As long as the game is balanced, has depth, and is fun, with promotions and game development its bound to get attention and be successful. The artwork is great, the game mechanics maybe simple but thats ok (quite a few successful TCG started that way) and it is a fun pick up and play. Wulven just keep doing what you do, and don't be afraid to experiment. I'm enjoying the game and am inviting my friends to play as well as the guys in our TCG club. It would be great if the cards carried a bit of lore somewhere on them like a line or two but hey.

I think its a great idea to build on. SE adds one more way to play and enjoy the game plus emphasizing the human interacting experience.

I think that the physical card game would be a great idea to promote. I have often wanted to buy some of the cards as it becomes more of a hobby rather than a game you can play on your phone if your bored. Ihave collected pokemon and yugioh cards before and I used to love keeping them in a folder and in order and making my own decks and keeping the cards in good condition using the sleeves etc i think its all part of the fun! Im an event organiser at a University and have been a member of a tabletop gaming club in the past that could probably spare a table or two to run SE games but honestly i wouldnt know where to start in regards to getting the cards in shops... ive looked in Waterstones book shop a few times for the cards but obviously they are not in shops in the UK. I suppose working at a Uni i can spread the word around with poster on notice boards etc and contact my old gaming club host to see whether they could spare some tables once a week. Any way, these are my thoughts about it. Ive nearly ordered some physical cards before but its too expensive to have them shipped to the UK!

You may want to check again now because the UK has it's own distributor now! Remember any order over $100 gets free shipping!

You sound like you'd be a great Champion. Don't worry about getting hold of cards. I bought a huge amount on the physical pre-order to get us through some stretch goals and I'm looking to sell some to make room for Lego (don't ask!).
