    • The Wulven Apprentice (Win a Paid Role at Wulven)

      In December 2011, the Shadow Era Design Team was formed, after Kyle took applications from the Shadow Era community.

      Over the course of the past 18 months, some members have left and others have joined, also from the community.

      Now, Kyle is once again looking to the community for worthy talent ...

      (Hoping one day to find it!)

      But he's not just asking for applications by email this time ...

      He's decided to go +1 better ...

      The Wulven Apprentice is a multi-week contest,
      where one lucky member of the Shadow Era community
      will win a paid role working for Wulven Game Studios!

      Who Should Apply?

      Our hope is to find someone who ticks all the following boxes:

      * enthusiastic
      * hard-working
      * team player
      * good communicator
      * passionate about Shadow Era and TCGs in general
      * time available to do the role!

      Please note that applicants must be at least 18 years old.

      If you think that you're the person we're looking for, to help us take Shadow Era to new heights and greater success, then please read on to see what's involved and how to apply.

      How it will work

      Here's a brief run down of how we envision the contest to work. (How things will actually work will depend on the tasks we use and availability of those involved, but the hope is that we don't stray too far from this format.)

      Phase One - Selecting Candidates - COMPLETE

      People interested in taking part should send an application by email to apprentice@wulven.com by 5th June 11pm GMT.

      Things to include in your application:

      * Why you want to take part
      * Why you believe you are a worthy candidate
      * What makes you different to other applicants
      * Anything else you think will help us choose the candidates

      UPDATE: We are now reviewing applications.

      Phase Two - 10 Candidates Notified - COMPLETE

      Wulven will contact each candidate by email to let them know they are invited to take part. The invite needs to be accepted within 48 hours.

      The expectation is that 10 candidates will be revealed in 2 weeks from now, but the precise time will depend on how many applications we get, how long they are and how difficult it is to choose the candidates.

      Phase Three - Teams Revealed - COMPLETE (see here)

      The candidates will be split into two teams by Wulven. The candidates on each team should get to know each other, choose a team name and decide who will be the Project Manager in the first task.

      Phase Four - Tasks - IN PROGRESS (Task 1 Voting, Task 1 Firing, Task 2 Voting, Task 2 Firing, Task 3 Voting, Task 3 Firing, Task 4)

      Over the course of 6 weeks (or so), teams will compete against each other at a variety of tasks, each one designed to allow the candidates to demonstrate their potential value to Wulven.

      At the end of each task, the winning team will be decided (usually by forum poll), and then the Project Manager of the losing team will select two people from their team to take into the Wulven Lair, where Kyle will choose one person to be fired.

      The tasks will continue each week, with smaller reconfigured teams and new Project Managers (where possible), until 4 candidates remain.

      Phase Five - Interviews

      The remaining 4 candidates will be interviewed by Kyle and members of the Design Team.

      Two will be selected to compete in the Grand Final based on the interviews and performance in previous weeks.

      Phase Six - Grand Final

      All candidates will be invited back to take part in the final task, where the two finalists will be Project Managers.

      The winning Project Manager will be selected by Kyle at the end of that task.

      The Prize

      The winner of Wulven Apprentice will get a prestigious paid role working for Wulven Game Studios to help shape the future of Shadow Era! But don't worry, this is a part-time, work at home in your underwear kind of deal. Time commitments are expected to be a few hours each day.

      More information

      More information will be shared in due course.

      In the mean time, please consider whether you would like to apply and then send in your application before the deadline. (All candidates invited to take part will have the opportunity to decline that offer, so please do not delay applying if there is anything you are currently unsure of. Everything will be clarified before Phase Two.)

      Feel free to use this thread to discuss any aspect of The Wulven Apprentice and ask any questions you might have.

      p.s. If you are wondering who did the banner, it was none other than forum regular, Jazz. After he guessed this was coming via a clue I posted a couple of weeks ago, I asked him to put together the banner using his excellent graphic design skills and he's done a fantastic job on it!
