"From the Shadows" A physical & mental checklist to bring to events!

Rate this Entry
Hello to all Shadow Era Fans and Players!
This past weekend marked the release of shadow era's physical cards I thought I would write a short blog and make a mental and physical checklist for players that might not have as much or any event experience as I do I wanted to make a checklist of something's you'll will want to bring and in some cases, required to bring.
1. Cards - Depending on what kind of event your entering you will want to make sure you bring your cards with you. This seems obvious, but if your going to a booster draft and or sealed event (a.k.a meltdown) I've seen newer players not bring thier cards and miss out on excellent chances to trade for much needed and or wanted cards.

2. Dice, tokens, ohh my! - Through my TCG travels I've always come across one or two players that don't have dice, tokens or even a small tab of paper to keep track of thier score. I always have enough dice! I have 36 12mm dice from a company called Chesssex. They are D6's or six sided, and come with a nice small plastic case so you don't have to worry about kissing them. I also bring 20 sided dice which are perfect for keeping track of life and for shadow era can also be used to count shadow energy. If a real life tournament event you'll want to know your life and shadow levels as well as your opponent at all times and reduce the chance of making a miss play because you didn't know every detail.

3. Card sleeves - With cards having a steep value at times and you also payed good money you worked hard for, and for some your parents worked hard for you'll want to protect your cards at all times. Even at booster drafts some events will only let you play if you have card sleeves on you and won't let you play without them since most booster drafts prizes are the cards that everyone opened before the tournament started. The best card sleeves I've ever had are from a company called dragon sleeves. They are a bit more pricey but they last longer then any other and you get 100 sleeves for around $20 USD and are well worth the extra money.

5. Playmats - These arnt required but do help to keep the battlefield oraginized and some just look really cool, in my book I dont mind kissing as long as I look good doing it
